Quality Engineer

Eaton Corporation's Fuel System Division ofEaton Aerospace, has an opening for a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer will be part of a High Performance Work Teamin a manufacturing cell. The position is based in Euclid, OH.
Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer -High Performance Work Team is responsible for quality support to the teamresponsible for the manufacture, assembly and testing of internallymanufactured products. In addition, supports issues such as MRB review, CostOut, CONC Reduction, PPAP, and other Improvement Initiatives.
The Euclid facility hasapproximately 400 employees and is a leader in the design, development,manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems andservices to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Drive reduction of Defective Parts per Million (DPPM) and improvement in First Pass Yield (FPY) of manufactured products.
Review Engineering drawings and changes to assure that they are properly dimensioned and conform to GD&T protocol, and provide proper inspectability for the related component.
Drive improvement based on Statistical Process Control (SPC) data. In addition perform analysis to determine process capability and trends of key characteristics, and preform review for any characteristics that fall below Cpk 1.33. Participate in problem resolution and provide necessary training to High Performance Work team and operators.
Using a variety of problem solving tools respond to internal or external customer corrective action requests including full root cause analysis, determination of permanent corrective actions, including implementation and validation.
Host customer representatives, and/or customer auditors as needed.
Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, customers, and suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and develop methods to reduce overall Cost Of Non Conformance (CONC)
Position requires interaction with external customers and internal personnel at all levels of the organization. Interaction is quite often providing the controlled interface between an Eaton manufacturing supplier (both internal and external) and the Eaton customer.
Work with customer, government and other regulatory representatives to interpret or reach agreement on Quality procedures, and acceptability of products and assure compliance with the specified customer and government requirements.
Investigate and resolve internal and external product quality problems utilizing quality functional tools such as statistical and analytical tools, PFMEAs, and process capability studies.
Review customer rejected hardware to determine cause and corrective action.
Utilize product audit process to suggest process and/or design changes to improve producibility and/or yield. Implement standard work; identify cost out opportunities, in order to drive continuous improvements in products and processes.
Maintain accurate records to comply with company and customer record retention requirements.
Insure compliance to all internal external quality requirements are maintained, initiating corrective action activities when non-compliances are noted.
Drive improvement activities to Insure Eaton's High Five metrics are achieved. (Safety, TRCR, Quality CONC, OTD, DOH, and Flex Productivity.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited school.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment
Thisposition requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject tothe International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons withinthe meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S.person as a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'),Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Must reside within a 50 mile radius of the work location: no relocation provided.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited school.
Trained in AS9100 quality system auditing.
Six Sigma Green Belt training.
Working knowledge in aerospace quality processes.
Experience working with sandcast aluminum.
Working Knowledge of drawings and specifications interpretation.
Working knowledge in functional measuring equipment usage.
Position Criteria:
Detailed knowledge of aerospace product, manufacturing processes and inspection techniques.
Detailed knowledge of the latest ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications per ASME Y14.5M.
Knowledge of machining, assembly & test operations, gauging, SPC, and APQP.
Knowledge of SPC concepts including X bar, R, and attribute charts; process capability per Cpk and Ppk; common/special cause identification; and long- and short-term process variability. MSA metrics including repeatability, reproducibility, and linearity. False acceptance/rejection estimating. Basic statistical methods including ANOVA, DOE, and distribution identification.
Experienced knowledge of AS9100 Quality System and product/process auditing techniques.
Detailed knowledge of AS9102 First Article and AS9103 Key Characteristic requirements.
Detailed knowledge of problem-solving techniques - Root Cause Analysis, 8D Corrective Action Process, and FMEA.
Ability to manage multiple projects/activities.
Detail oriented.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Experienced in Microsoft computer applications.
Must exhibit a high level of motivation, sense of urgency, and energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
