POSITION SUMMARY
Design products to customer specifications, while adhering to industry standards. Continually enhance designs using the latest design software and materials to deliver a highly engineered, cost competitive product of superior quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Interact with customers (both internal and external) to understand technical requirements and resolve issues.
Prepare technical drawings.
Determine labor estimates.
Source new parts to vendors.
Run prototype parts through manufacturing.
Design components as needed.
Be able to complete the product design process from quotation through shipment.
Help with design production issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Cad experience (preferably a 3-D software package).
Good mechanical aptitude
Good math (Trigonometry minimum) and communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree a plus (BSME or Mechanical Engineer Technology); or previous equivalent experience
Ability to read precision measuring devices
2-5 years in a custom product design or fabrication environment preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
