- Plan, develop, and implement a wide range of engaging activities for clients (children ages 5 to 17) in a residential treatment mental health care facility.
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities, ensuring a variety of options to meet the diverse needs and interests of clients.
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living as needed.
- Collaborate with the nursing and clinical team to ensure the well-being and safety of clientss during activities.
- Organize and facilitate special events, outings, and holiday celebrations for fitness department.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to enhance the activity program.
- Create and distribute activity calendars to clients and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of clients participation in daily activities.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred, particularly in a public & private school , mental health hospital, or residenttial treatment setting.
Will consider certified fitness trainers.
- Knowledge of mental health first aid care and best practices for engaging individuals with emotional and beahvaioral health challenges.
- Familiarity with recreational therapy principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
