To assist in assuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school clinic.
Provide first aid to students and staff due to illness or injury.
Dispense medications on a daily and PRN basis and document.
Assist school with various office duties, e.
g.
, updating health records, copying, filing.
Assist with vision/hearing screening NOTE:

Essential Functions:
Ensure safety of students Maintain records Maintains clinic with adequate supplies kept on hand and care will be taken to keep clinic orderly and comfortable for students in need of services Administer first aid in accordance with established first-aid procedures Organizes and provides hearing and vision screenings Refer students in need of medical and dental care Maintain up-to-date health records for students according to the Ohio State Department of Health regulations and completes state required immunization reports Assume responsibility for injured students or ill students Contact student homes and notifies parents when their child has been exposed to a communicable disease Assist in preparation of reports Follow up exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases Assist school personnel in establishing sanitary conditions Dispense medication when all state and local regulations have been met Disposes properly of syringes and items containing blood in accordance with the blood borne pathogen exposure control plan Completes and maintains accident reports for students, staff or visitors occurring in the building or on the grounds Follows proper procedures when calling 911 Keep daily clinic log of students needing health assistance Type reports, forms and letters Chart vision and hearing screening results on all permanent health records of students tested Alphabetize the permanent health records into proper classes in all buildings Assist in sending out referral letters to parents on the screening results done in the schools Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.

, information about students, and treats health records, written and unwritten, as confidential pursuant to HIPAA Laws.
Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents Attend meetings and in-services as required Assist with enforcing immunization requirements, screening for lice and other communicable diseases Other Duties and

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED Prior medical experience preferred Possess keyboarding and computer skills CPR certification Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
