Set up, operate, or tend extrusion lines to extrude thermoplastic into entangled net, wall, and concrete products Essential Job Functions:
Clean work areas, maintain organized tool carts Adjust line settings to run quality products.
Troubleshoot and maintain extrusion line equipment.
Change dies on extruding machines according to production line changes.
Change production belts on conveyors according to production line changes.
Load fabrics on mezzanine and thread fabrics through rollers to achieve proper fabric alignment and application onto the finished product.
Load and align zip strip tape.
Determine setup procedures and select machine dies and parts, according to set-up sheet specifications.
Measure and examine extruded products in order to locate defects, and to check for conformance to specifications; adjust controls as necessary to alter products.
Replace worn dies when products vary from specifications.
Install dies, machine screws, and related equipment in the production process.
Wind extruded products into rolls of specified lengths and weights per set-up sheets.
Maintain an accurate inventory of finish goods produced on each shift.
Operate both hopper and weigh feeder loader machines with mixed materials, using vacuum convey systems.
Operate sample cut-out press machine to cut test samples.
Test physical properties of products with testing devices such as scales, dial indicators, calipers, tape measures, and impact testers.
Program weigh feeder recipes for proper mix of pelletized, thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments.
Responsible for production of materials in accordance with work instructions with intent to limit scrap production Each operator is responsible for scrap segregation, scrap data collection, and clean-up of scrap produced on his/her line at the end of each shift, before going home, without shutting down the line for shift change.
